Tickets for Taylor Swift’s upcoming Eras Tour are a hot commodity. The presale of tickets for the tour that took place on November 15, 2022 left many fans stressed, overwhelmed, and disappointed. Thousands of fans who waited in the queue for hours that day did not receive tickets because Ticketmaster oversold tickets for certain tour dates. A hearing took place in January 2023 to assess the power that Ticketmaster has in the entertainment industry. There was significant online conversation, including from diverse audiences, surrounding the hearing and the way Ticketmaster handled the release of tickets for the Eras Tour. Methodology
This analysis was extrapolated from a data set of 45,612 conversations on Twitter, of which 3,465 were from verified U.S. Hispanics and 1,577 were from verified Black Americans. All data regarding Taylor Swift vs Ticketmaster multicultural conversation was gathered from 01/01/2023 – 02/07/2023.
