Hispanic and African American Soccer Passion
The World Cup Final
Project Description
Now that the 2018 World Cup Final has come and gone with France winning its second title, we look back and review how the multicultural audience discussed the beautiful game. In particular, we look at how Hispanic and African American soccer passion may differ between the ethnicities, and even between English and Spanish speaking Hispanics.
In this report, OYE! software was utilized to analyze multicultural World Cup data based on social media conversations during the final week of the 2018 World Cup on the dates of July 9 – July 15, 2018. Insights cover ethnicity, language, gender, location, hot topics, top shared posts, and top Hispanic and African American influencers.
This analysis was extrapolated from a sample of 316,558 online U.S. conversations discussing the last week of the 2018 World Cup. From this sample, 38,336 were from verified U.S. Hispanics and 6,463 were from verified African American consumers.
