Which are the Favorite NHL Teams among Hispanic and Black Fans?

Project Description

As the season winds down, the NHL has been greeted by hockey-hungry fans attentive to their favorite teams and players. However, the NHL has an image of being a sport based on white machismo. In this report, we analyze conversations from Black Americans and U.S Hispanics voicing their predictions and praise about five of the most discussed NHL teams online; Edmonton Oilers, Colorado Avalanche, Tampa Bay Lightning, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Arizona Coyotes. Learn more by downloading the report!

Methodology

This analysis was extrapolated from a data set of 74,297 conversations on Twitter, of which 6,792 were from verified U.S. Hispanics and 2,864 were from verified Black Americans. All data was gathered from 11/17/2021 – 12/01/2021
