Online Conversations: Complexities of Working from Home During COVID-19
Amid the COVID-19 spread, most people’s daily life activities had to change. Working from home has become a popular conversation topic since the majority of professionals had to adjust to a new work-from-home environment. Now in fact, many companies plan to move to entirely remote work for the safety of employees.
The O.Y.E. tool was used to examine Twitter conversations and create a multicultural analysis on the topic of working from home. O.Y.E. segments this data into groups based on ethnicity, age, and spoken language. Additionally, the language analysis tool gathers sentiment and keyword data to break down diverse conversations regarding the complexities of working from home during COVID-19.
Methodology – Working from Home During COVID-19
This analysis was extrapolated from a data set of 21,916 conversations on Twitter, of which 1,615 were from verified Hispanics and 1,786 were from verified Black Americans. All data was gathered from 06/10/2020 – 09/08/2020.
