Trending Features on TikTok – Diverse Discussion Dissected

Project Description

TikTok has become an immensely popular platform where online users are able to express their talents to the entire world. As of November, TikTok was downloaded the most in 2020, and stands at 1.9 billion downloads since its beginning in 2018. From those downloads, a significant portion came from the U.S. where TikTok has become a platform in which the older Gen-Z audience is beginning to install the app at such a high level that the average user age is ticking upward.

Currently, as many people are in quarantine spending more time at home due to the pandemic, TikTok has become a means of entertainment and personal branding. In response, TikTok has enhanced their features and filters that have increased the creativity of many users.

This report takes an in-depth look at diverse conversations discussing “Trending Features (Filters) on TikTok”.

Methodology

This analysis was extrapolated from a data set of 26,722 conversations on Twitter, of which 3,100 were from verified U.S. Hispanics and 2,091 were from verified Black Americans. All data was gathered from 10/01/2020 – 10/07/2020.
