eSports Video Game Demographics | Multicultural Insights

Video games, over the past few decades, have become a favorite past-time for people of all ages around the world. Video games have especially blown up within the last decade due to the live broadcasting of competitive video games, known as eSports. As a result, eSports has been able to bridge the gaps between the contrasting communities of sports business, video games, and the general public. What has helped many of these games to flourish past obstacles includes collaborative advertisements, events, and giveaways. Even though eSports is followed and watched by millions of people every day; multicultural esports video game demographics is divided among people of different ages, genders, races, and interests in different games.

In this report, OYE software was utilized to deliver multicultural entertainment insights based on social media conversations on Twitter about eSports during the dates of April 20th – May 20th, 2020. Insights in this report cover age, ethnicity, gender, language, location, sentiment, and top hashtags.

Methodology

This analysis was extrapolated from a sample of 24,772 Twitter conversations online discussing eSports of which 4,565 or approximately 18.4%, were from verified Hispanics and 1,035 or 4.2% were verified African Americans.
